On this episode of Cherry Heat Check, we’re coming straight out of Mountain West media day in Las Vegas with one clear headline: New Mexico is the 2026-27 preseason pick to win the conference, and Jake Hall is the preseason Player of the Year. That backcourt of Hall and Tenette isn’t a secret anymore. Ricky breaks down how those two can build off their freshman seasons, test defenses, and turn last year’s promise into a real title push.

We close with a look ahead to the Lobos’ October 11 exhibition at Oklahoma State—first real test, road atmosphere, and an early chance to see if this group is ready to back up the hype. Check in. #LoboBasketball #NewMexicoLobos
